All Dressed Up

5 Oct

I had plans to get some cute photos in my vintage find.

But this little booger wouldn’t let me.

These will have to do.

Dress: J’s grandmother’s wardrobe, Shoes: Forever 21

Next time I’ll plan well in advance. Or I’ll just live in sweats forever.

Did you dress up today? Link up with the lady!

Pictures and a Poll- Week 22

14 Apr

I went shopping today in search of a cocktail dress- a pregnancy one. I’m not sure those three words go together: pregnancy cocktail dress. It just seems all wrong. What do you think?

Anyway, it wasn’t as terrible as I thought it was going to be. I have to have a dress for next week’s CG Reception and I was really waiting until the last minute. Finally, I picked myself up off the couch and drove to the mall. I consider the trip a successful one because I left with a dress in hand. But I want to know what you all think. I can always take the one I bought back. Which dress should I choose? Poll Below.

I took pictures with everything because every girl knows the camera adds 15lbs or so. There’s no trusting those mirrors! With all these photos in my possession, I decided it was time for a 22 Week Update!

Size of Baby: 11 inches (1lb) ~ the size of a spaghetti squash (ha)

Total Weight Gain: 12 lbs! No trouble gaining now 🙂

Maternity Clothes: I really should buy some. I’m sure they’d be amazing! I’m still rockin’ the rubber band trick and the belly bands.

Gender: Boy! So exciting 🙂

Movement: Oh yes! I can feel him from the outside now, too. It makes me happy.

Sleep: I toss and turn a lot, but I’m tired enough to rack in plenty of hours.

What I miss: Feeling in-shape

Cravings: Oatmeal

Symptoms: Heartburn is back.

Baby is doing well and so is Mommy! Now, if only I could decide what to wear. Which one should I choose?

Dressed up for my first date!

2 Feb

I had to get All Dressed Up today…I had a big date! Today was the first day I got to meet my handsome little man or beautiful baby girl. I had to look good, right?

Top: No idea Undershirt: Target Jeans: Forever 21 Belt: I made it!

Shoes: Belk

And now for the extra special thing I’m sportin’ today…

Apparently, that’s a baby! Just one…for all those who voted that I was having twins, you’ll have to guess again. Can I tell you how wonderful it was to see our baby’s heartbeat? He or She was so active! They took a ton of pictures but the baby just wasn’t enjoying having all that attention. Must be like her/his mama! More on this later.

Before & After

26 Jan

Meet Jilly. She’s the soon to be Mom who has already let herself go. Her wardrobe consists of old college sweatshirts and dingy sweatpants she has had since high school. For the most part, she has been content with the way she looks on a day-to-day basis, but that’s all going to change today.

Today Jilly is getting made-over.

With a little help from the shower, makeup, and closet fairies (no pun intended there), Jilly is a whole new woman. You might even call her fierce.

Top: Express circa 2007, Leggins: Maurice’s

After a few accessories to brighten her day, she’s ready to hit the town (or not).

She might just go back to her spot on the couch and wait till next Wednesday to dress up again. 2nd Trimester, where art thou?

You’re so vain

15 Sep

I feel like a woman again! My mom expressed her fear and worry that her girl was quickly leaning towards more manly activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, and going to the shooting range. She told me before I arrived in TN that it was “time for an intervention.” When I got off the plane, the first thing I did was go shopping with Mom. That was quick, huh? I couldn’t help it; I was having withdrawals. My girly-ness sunk in even further when I arrived home and remembered all the fabulous clothes I had left behind. For three glorious weeks, I wasn’t going to wear one stitch of flannel or big bulky boots. I would break out my heels, paint some lipstick on my lips, and feel pretty again! Lemme tell ya, it feels good 🙂

I even went bubble gum pink with my nails. Be afraid, be very afraid.

I’d like to tell you how great a product is in this post as well, but I hesitate because of one of my favs, Sandra Bullock. Isn’t she the coolest? I just want to throw this out there- I’m definitely, completely, totally Team Bullock BUT…This product is, well, amazing-

Kat Von D, the tattooed missy who apparently caught the eye of Sandra’s man, has made the best concealer ever. You may already know that she created this makeup as a way to cover up tattoos, but I love it because it also hides those pesky skin problems that come along with crazy hormones and adult acne. I think I paid 25 bucks for this bottle, but it is worth it. A little goes a long way!

After two weeks of shopping, I feel a little more prepared for Fall. I pieced together this fun, comfortable look with help from Forever 21, Target, and Maurice’s. I decided I hope I’m pregnant in the fall so I can wear threads like the ones below just so I can be comfy and cute. Every girl needs one item of clothing that is animal print, right?!

Typical Myspace Photo

*I wouldn’t be surprised if this is my only makeup/fashion post ever. I’ll be back in my element in no time and I’m sure my husband will remind me that he likes me best in loungin’ clothes and devoid of all makeup. Man, he’s crazy but I sure miss him.
