Hi, Y’all! If you’re new to my blog, welcome! Here’s a little bit about my family and me. I’m Mrs. K, happily married to Captain J. We have two medium sized, furry Alaskan Husky friends who go by the names Drifter and Holly. We also just welcomed our first child into the world who goes by the name Baby K!
Our lives are crazy, but exciting. After a whirlwind romance, Captain J and I were staring straight ahead at the D word. In the military world, that means “deployment”. My husband’s job with the Army has taken us through many ups and downs, each of which I wouldn’t change if I could. Our first duty station together took us to Alaska, our home away from home. We loved our time there! Now, we’re finding ourselves boots down in Louisiana! Originally from Tennessee, we are happy to be in the south again.
Moving around a lot is difficult, but the memories and travels we get to experience are well worth it! This blog contains many travel posts as that is one of our favorite blessings- being able to travel around and see God’s creation! My other favorite things are reading, writing, scrapbooking, being active, watching football, wine, chocolate, friends, and learning more about my savior.
I’m currently working on my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I hope to one day integrate Christ’s teachings into modern psychology theories in hopes of helping those who are struggling find peace and find God. Aside from this blog, I like to call myself a writer. I enjoy writing nonfiction and hope to eventually develop this interest further.
